I had finally settled into the new apartment complex that the landlord had given me and I felt like things were finally going my way. My graduation was just a few days away, and as other students discussed the arrival of their families, I was hurt that mine wasn’t coming. My mother couldn’t be bothered about my life, and this was something that I had accepted.
