MAXS POV
For a moment after James shot me, I thought I was dead. I saw a bright light flash before me right before my eyes closed. I don’t know how long I had been unconscious, but when I woke up, I was lying on the floor and struggling to get back up. The only thing that was keeping me going was the prospect of seeing Lilly again. The fact that she was out there willing to do anything to be with me again was what made me fight to stay alive.
I was proud of how Lilly was handling this whole thing with James. I was proud that she was taking a stand and she wasn’t allowing him to scare her off but unfortunately I was feeling like I wouldn’t live long enough to let her know how proud I was of her. I can’t say that I was shocked or caught off guard by the fact that James shot me but I will
