Monica crossed her arms over her chest, scowling at the wall. Her jaw was clenched tightly, and she wanted to punch something, but did not want to hurt herself for someone as unimportant, and insignificant as Tyson. "I hate him," she muttered, slamming her hand on the bed. "I hate him so much. Aggravating freak." She let out a groan and stood up, walking out of the room. The door slammed behind her as she made her way down the stairs, teeth gritted, muttering curses under her breath. One of her slippers slipped off her foot, making her let out another groan in frustration. She tried to wear it again whilst continuing to descend the stairs, but missed a step and tripped, twisting her other ankle in the process. A small scream escaped her lips and her eyes opened wide as she stumbled, but before she could fall, she was saved by a pair of strong arms. For some reason, she longed to feel sparks erupt within her skin, but the arms did not belong to her mate. "You okay?" An unfamiliar voice asked, as the man steadied her, helping her up. She looked up to meet the gaze of a cute brunette guy, freckles dotting his nose, as he raised a crooked eyebrow at her in concern. "Ye-yeah, I'm fine," Monica nodded, backing away from him and stepping back into her slipper. "Thanks." "No problem," he smiled. "You should be more careful," he muttered, glancing down at her tummy. Monica instinctively covered it with her hand, offering him an awkward smile. "I will." "I'm Ethan." He offered her his hand. "Monica," she said, shaking it. "I don't think I have seen you here before. You're new here, right?" "Yeah," he nodded. "I belonged to the Silver Moon pack, before I left their town and came here." "Silver Moon?" Monica raised her eyebrows, as her heart paced. "Yes," Ethan grinned, making his eyes glow silver. "Um, they're beautiful," Monica said softly. She realized her hand was still in his, and gently pulled it away. "I had a friend in that pack. Do you know Xavier?" She asked expectantly. "Xavier... Yes, yes I know him," Ethan nodded slowly. "He was an acquaintance." "And um, did he bring a new guy to the pack recently? Someone called... Hayes?" She asked. Ethan blinked, thinking. "He did bring a guy... But his name isn't Hayes. It's Damien. They left for another pack a couple of days ago though. Why?" "Another pack? Why?" She asked. "I don't know, something was off about the new guy. He seemed distu-" "Monica?" Viktor asked, cutting Ethan off, as he walked towards them. Monica's eyes widened slightly, before she covered it up with a smile. "Hey Alpha," she said, trying to sound cheerful. "You and Tyson haven't left yet?" He asked, frowning. "No, actually, I wasn't feeling well so I told him to go alone," Monica lied. "What's wrong? Are you okay?" Ethan asked, frowning. "Yeah, just morning sickness. Side effects of pregnancy," she chuckled nervously. "You asked him and he just left? What's wrong with him?" Viktor said in disbelief, pulling his phone out of his pocket. "I'll tell him to return at once." "No, no, don't do that, I'm fine," Monica shook her head. Viktor looked at her suspiciously. "Really. I'm much better now," she reassured. "Are you sure?" He pushed. "I'll have him drag his ass back here at once." "There's really no need of that. I promise," she insisted. "Great. Let's go then," Viktor smiled, gesturing towards the door. "What? Where?" "Breakfast. I told Tyson I don't want anyone here today," Viktor replied, before his gaze shifted to Ethan. "Including you, newbie. Get out." "Alright," Ethan sighed. "See you around, Monica." Monica forced a smile, after which he walked away, leaving the pack house. "Can we go?" Viktor raised his eyebrows in question. "Are you sure that's a good idea? I mean what if I get sick again?" Monica asked. "Then we'll come back, no problem," he shrugged. "Do we really have to, I mean, he could be returning, and he could get worried if he-" "Relax, no need to be so paranoid. We'll come back in time, you'll have fun, it'll be good for you. You should get some fresh hair, Hun. It'll be good for the baby," Viktor smiled at her reassuringly. "Oh," Monica smiled nervously. "Okay, I guess," she muttered, biting her lip. This is not going to end well, she thought to herself as they walked to the door together. - - - - "No, absolutely not!" Monica laughed, as she stepped out of Viktor's car. "Bellatrix deserved what she got. You remember what she did to Hermoine?" She turned to look at him as he shut the door for her. "Have you seen that woman? I don't understand how anyone could be okay with her death?" Viktor said incredulously after locking the car. They walked to the entrance together. "Just because she's hot?" Monica laughed. "You'll forgive everything she did because she's hot. I see your priorities, Alpha." "It's not about priori-wait, let me get the door." He opened the door of the pack house, and gestured for her to walk in, which she did, with a huge grin on her face, looking back at him. "It's not about priorities, it's just a preference. I'd prefer her alive. That's it." "She mocked Fred's death. The woman deserved to die. If I could, I would kill her myse-" Monica started to rant, before her gaze set on a certain someone, making her freeze. The smile on her face vanished as she felt her heart beat quicken slightly, feeling intimidated by his hard gaze. He stood near the stairs, arms crossed over his chest, jaw clenched, staring at the two of them with nothing but suspicion and rage in his eyes. "Oh hey Tyson, you're back," Viktor said, smiling at him. Tyson's eyes began to gleam, and in a split second, he stormed over to them, grabbing Viktor's neck. He pushed him back, slamming him against the wall, as the two growled at each other, claws out, eyes glowing bright purple. "Tyson!" Monica screamed as she covered her mouth in shock, dropping her phone. "Tyson, let go of me," Viktor growled at him, placing his hands on Tyson's shoulders. "I told you to stay the hell away from her!" Tyson yelled, his voice monstrous. "Calm down!" Viktor yelled at him, trying to push him off, but Tyson was out of his mind. His claws started to dig inside Viktor's skin, and blood trickled down his neck, staining his white shirt. "Tyson, stop it!" Monica cried, making her way over to them. She grabbed Tyson's arm, trying to pull him away, when he let out a growl, and jerked her away, causing her to stumble and fall backwards. A gasp escaped her lips and she tightly shut her eyes, but before she could hit the ground, arms wrapped around her lower back, saving her. She opened her teary eyes to find Tyson staring down at her with concern and shock, as he slowly pulled her up, steadying her. Her throat burned with cries and she pushed him away, staring at him in disbelief. "I'm so-" "I could've fallen," she whispered, her voice breaking at the end. "My child could've been hurt," she sniffed, before turning around and rushing up the stairs. She wanted say more, but at that moment, all she could think of was to get away from him, from his anger, from the thing that had endangered the safety of her baby. Tyson sighed, staring at her retreating back, before she disappeared and he heard the door of his room slam shut. "What the heck is wrong with you?" Viktor scolded, grabbing his T-shirt from the back, before he pinned him to the wall. "You hit your mate?" "I didn't hit her," Tyson snapped. "It was an accident. And I saved her." He pushed Viktor away, letting out a growl. "Why the hell was she with you?" "Because you i***t, you left her alone here when she was sick. I clearly told you, I wanted you all to go out as couples! Why did you go without her?" Viktor asked. "That's none of your damned business. Stay away from my mate, Viktor. She's mine. She's not some random girlfriend who you're going to try and seduce," Tyson snarled. "Seduce? God, Tyson. Go back to your room, and apologize to her," Viktor stated through a clenched jaw. "What happened between us, stays between us. You stay out of it, and don't tell me how to behave with her," Tyson hissed. "Go and apologize!" Viktor growled, pushing Tyson by his chest. "She's your mate, not some woman you can lash out on because you don't trust your brother. You pushed her, Tyson. She's pregnant for God's sake!" "I didn't let her get hurt," Tyson muttered, the glow of his eyes abating. "And you stop trying to act like you're my father, because you're not." "I am your Alpha, you answer to me, Tyson!" Viktor growled, his fangs growing, as he caught hold of Tyson's collar. - - - - - -
