Running cleared my head, it opened my senses and I could see the path ahead clearly. The fresh air filled my lungs, giving me the confidence I needed to stand in front of the newly appointed council and guide them. No more political decisions that took forever to decide and then no action taken when it was needed. I ran down the tree line next to the river, taking in the smell of the fresh water, before I turned back to the direction of the house. My agenda for today’s meeting was formulated in my mind as I reached home. I ran up the stairs, stripped out of my exercise clothes as I ran through to the bathroom, and kept on running on the spot while I was waiting for the water to warm up in the shower.
