Chapter Forty Three I try to keep my posture professional as I go to the mansion that Lucifer has been staying in. I don’t knock, because I don’t feel the need to. We’re lovers, after all. “Lucifer?” I question as soon as I walk in. Looking around, I don’t see him. “Oh lover boy,” I coo. Still no response. Hmmm. Maybe I should just piss him off. “Lucifer, stop acting like a bloody coward and come out.” I walk around the entire bottom floor of the mansion, continuing to taunt him. When he doesn’t respond I just groan in frustration and head back to the entryway. “I know you’re a lot of things, but I didn’t know a coward was one of them. f**k you, Lucifer.” As I’m reaching for the door knob, an invisible force pins me in place. “Nope. Too late. I’m leaving now” I call out. Lucifer
