The next morning proved to be even more of a challenge. Pete had wandered over sometime during the morning. And instead of staying out of Nimbus's way, he seemed to be fascinated by the animal. Neivayka woke to the trillis hissing in her ear so loudly that it sounded like an earthquake. She jumped out of bed, her frantic movements startling both Pete and Nimbus into racing off in opposite directions. “Dang it, you two!" Neivayka shouted after Nimbus's quickly disappearing trio of tails. “Don't blame me!" squeaked Pete from the end of her bed. “What are you doing here?" Neivayka snapped at the tiny creature. “I thought I told you to stay with Harmon." “I did! But he wanted to talk to you about the skin-walker." “Why did he want to talk to me about the skin-walker?" Neivayka asked, run
