Book 2: Siren Touch
Darkness surrounded and penetrated Neivayka until it felt as if they were one. Twisted and cruel, the voice in the darkness began to speak to her. It taunted her with the heinous things that it wanted to do to her, do to those she cared about.
The pain and anguish filled her until her legs could no longer hold her upright. Curling into a ball, she covered her ears to block out the words that were slamming into her over and over again. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't hide from them, couldn't silence them. They didn't resonate from the impenetrable Shadow that surrounded her; they came from deep inside where there was no place to run.
