Nolan:
I didn’t stop her.
I didn’t say a word.
I just watched her walk away.
And I have to admit, I couldn't help the small smile that formed on my lips.
Her chin was high. Her pace was steady.
Not hurried, not meek.
Every pair of eyes in the hall followed her, and she didn’t care.
And I have to admit, for a moment I found myself questioning the idea of what I was doing. I found myself wondering why I allowed her to do everything that she was, but I also enjoyed the challenge.
The faint swish of her skirt was the only sound in the silence she left behind.
When the doors closed behind her, I finally looked back at the pack.
