"Mom is kidding, right?" Allen stage-whispers as we walk out of the room. "Alton would never do such a thing."
"I want to believe that, but I'm having a hard time."
"Adam, it's a no brainer. We've grown up with Alton. He is our brother and he would never hurt anyone, leave alone raping a girl."
I shake my head as we walk into the kitchen, and I rummage through the fridge as I talk.
"Karina didn't rape my girlfriend. She was sent by someone to spike her drink. All evidence is pointing to him."
"And why would Alton do that, huh? Why?"
"I don't know. I trust him, but I want to get to the bottom of this. Someone raped Alisha and I won't just let it go. I don't care who is guilty."
