"Why am I here? What does this dead woman tale have to do with me?" Allen asks in an annoyed tone as he sits beside Mom.
He wouldn't open the door when I knocked, so Mom ended up calling him. He is so f*****g mad at me. I mean, he has a right to be mad, but I really don't care about that.
"Nadia was a lot of things, but she was a very good woman." Mom says quietly, her eyes moving from me to Allen. "She was working as a personal assistant, and she mistakenly got pregnant for her boss."
"Mistakenly?" Allen laughs. "How the f**k does someone get pregnant mistakenly?"
"Lemme guess." I butt in. "The boss was married."
Mom shakes her head.
"He wasn't. He was in love with another woman though. She was very disappointed in him when she found out that he got someone else pregnant."
