AVA CLAYTON There was a faint ache in my chest, as I blinked back my tears, not wanting Priya to feel even more guilty. A part of me still did not believe it. Out of all the people in the world, I was bound and gagged with Priya, in the back of a van.  I glanced at her. Her chest heaved up and down, and her eyes were filled with pure rage. There was not even a hint of fear, either in her gaze or her body language, and I wondered whether she was really that brave, or just pretending to be. It could also be the adrenaline, or the annoyance she felt, that was undermining her dread.  Her gaze met mine, and I closed my eyes to reassure her. She shook her head at me, before looking away.
