John stopped Avery from going downstairs first thing in the morning. He was still very upset and hadn't slept much with a mind occupied by the movie and Molly's reaction. He knew that she would be fine with his daughter, but still didn't want Avery barging in there, especially if Molly wasn't in the same mindset as before and was questioning wanting to be part of John's life or family. He told Avery that they wouldn't be watching the movie that she brought, but that she could choose something else.
Molly had texted back and forth with Julien, and a few times he had tried being flirtatious over text, but she kept it clean and told him that she shouldn't have messaged him in the first place. After some more banter between them and catching up, he told her that he didn't have a main makeup artist anymore because he didn't like the way other people did their applications since he'd been used to the way Molly was for nearly a decade. He begged her to come to the city for some work during the upcoming weekend and promised that the money would be worth it. It was for a music job, not a movie, but it would still be good cash. She said she would think it over, unwilling to commit but, also, not wanting to say no. She was scared to tell John but hoped he would be able to understand that it was just about the pay.
When both Avery and John came down for breakfast, Molly already had things on the go. She filled the mug that she knew John favored and handed him the milk jug.
"Good morning." She told him and he looked her over thinking it would be impossible to be objective.
"Good morning." He replied back, "I hope you had a good night?"
She gave him a strange look that he thought was maybe guilt or fear but he still couldn't get over how attracted he was to her.
"Daddy told me I couldn't go play with you this morning!" Avery interrupted.
Molly was now sure that John was probably suspicious of her and she would have to explain herself.
"I'm sorry princess, maybe your daddy just wanted to hang out with you a little more before you have to go to your mom's tonight."
Avery stuck out her lip. "Yeah. I guess so."
John nodded and thanked Molly for making breakfast. He then told Avery that if she were really good, they would pick up some candy to enjoy during the movie and that they could go to the rental shop so that it wouldn't have to be a repeat of the same movies that he had on his shelves.
"There's a movie rental here?" Molly asked.
"Yeah, the selection isn't great and they've raised their prices, but it's better than trying to find stuff at the library or getting a late fee because their hours are so bad." He told her.
Molly raised her eyebrows and sounded genuine, "Wow, I thought all movie rental was just online now!"
"Not in small towns." John frowned.
Avery went on about what movie she would get, as well as which treats, and went off to get dressed and ready out of her pajamas.
Molly cleared her throat and avoided making eye contact with John while she spoke.
"I'm sorry about last night. I left because that actor with the purple wig was my ex."
John sighed, but also felt a small amount of relief that she was the first person to bring anything up. "Yeah, I know."
Her eyes widened instantly.
"How?"
"It wasn't that hard to figure out. You went into some sort of trance and started messaging him right in front of me before you even left the room." He stated, "Julien Winter, right?"
Molly's heart went from racing to nearly stopping when she heard him say her ex's first and last name.
"Yes. You're right."
"Why did you talk to him?" John questioned in an accusatory tone.
She got up, starting to clear the dishes, and tried to come up with an answer that would explain it to herself as well.
"I don't really know..." She began.
John also got up to show that he wasn't finished discussing the issue with her.
"Molly I know things are weird-" He got cut off by her turning to him and saying that Julien offered her a job.
"And let me guess; you're going to take it?" His voice snapped at her angrily.
He closed the gap between them, unaware of the implications of their closeness because he was clouded with emotion.
"I told him I'd think about it." She said, finally starting to look at him directly again.
"It's next weekend."
John was feeling possessive over the woman in front of him. He drank in her big eyes and tiny frame as he squared up his shoulders, making himself as big and imperious as he could.
"And what would you say if I wanted to go along with you?"
Molly was quiet but had a perplexing sensation of lust for the powerplay that was being used on her.
John could sense her desire and kissed her hungrily.
"Think I can trust you to not let him do this to you as well?"
She felt a little hurt but tried to not let it show.
"He's not going to touch me." She told him.
"How can I be sure?" John asked, moving his hands to her hips.
Her reasoning was failing under John's proximity and she opened her mouth to defend herself when he kissed her again. She raised her arms and rested her hands on his shoulders, thinking at first that she'd push him away, but failed as he continued to kiss her so that her mind was dizzy.
A small sharp gasp caused them to instantly break apart, looking over in the direction of the stairs, where Avery stood with her mouth open and eyes like saucers.
"Avery!" John exclaimed with his voice full of guilt, "I'm sorry you had to see that!"
Molly looked down and chewed on her lips, still trying to break herself out of John's spell.
"Daddy... you do love Molly!" The girl finally said.
He shifted uncomfortably and made his way to his daughter so that he could create space between himself and Molly.
"I knew it! You love her!" She cheered.
John knelt to be in front of her.
"You shouldn't have seen me act like that. I'm glad you're not upset, but it still wasn't a good thing for you to see."
"But Molly already told me that she loves you, so it's good that you love her back. I already thought you did... but you kissed her, so now I really know it's true!" Avery told her dad.
John turned to look at Molly.
"What did you tell a 6 year old girl? I know you don't have a lot of experience with kids, but, definitely, some things should be kept private. She isn't some grown woman getting off on hot gossip." He scolded and
Molly felt an anger rise in her.
"Well, what was I supposed to say? She asked me if I had feelings for you and I told her the truth."
Avery looked at the adults in a puzzled way and asked her dad why he seemed grumpy. She was happy to see them together and had also been happy for Molly to talk honestly with her. There were lots of adults who ignored her constant questions and high energy, but Molly listened and had fun with her.
"Do you... not love her then?" She asked with disappointment, making John sigh.
"I do." He said, getting up on his feet and rubbing his neck in the stressed manner he often did. "But... grown up relationships can be complicated, and Molly is so new to us. Now, I'm not going to ask you to lie, but I also don't think you should mention what you saw to your mom."
Molly smirked at John's words, knowing that Helen would find out right away. After all, Avery had promised to keep what Molly had first told her, when she confirmed that she liked John, a secret as well.
"Avery, do you mind watching something while Molly and I go talk for a few minutes?" John asked.
"Okay... can I color too?" She requested, "And we'll still go to the store, right?"
"Yes, let's grab some crayons and your coloring books. We'll go as soon as we've finished talking." He told her.
Avery followed him to her room to pick out some supplies and then went down again to turn on the TV. John stood at the halfway point on the stairs, just to make sure that this daughter followed through with the task, then asked Molly to come with him.
He closed the door behind them as she made her way into his room. She sat on his bed and waited for him to talk first. Aware that she hadn't been in his room for a couple days, she noticed that she missed his signature fresh but spiced scent.
Finally, he spoke. "If you're going to take the job, I'm coming with you."
"I'm not going to cheat on you." Molly used an argumentative tone.
He folded his arms against his chest, matching his body language with her attitude. "Then wouldn't you be happy to have me accompany you?"
She didn't really know why she was rejecting him, so she conceded. At first she felt like she was agreeing out of her own passive nature, but she also felt bad and wanted John to know she was serious about him.
"You're right. I'm not worried, so I'm not going to push you away. I just dont know if you'll be okay seeing me work on him and in that setting."
John was surprised, but relieved, at how easily she complied, despite him still not wanting her to even go.
"Are you... excited to see him again?" He asked nervously. "Please be honest."
She looked past him to try and figure herself out.
"I don't know. I'm hoping when I see him, I'll get closure. It's good you're coming along because I won't feel lonely and I'll be able to have you there to help keep me strong."
"Strong in what sense? Strong as in keeping you from allowing him to touch you?" John accused.
Molly looked at him and was annoyed, but could empathize with his jealousy.
"He didn't touch me before, why would he touch me now?"
"Because you're not his anymore." John said in a low quiet voice.
Molly got up from the bed and hugged him. She put her arms around his middle and rested her head on his chest. At first he was unwilling to hug her back but her warmth melted into him and he held her close. He had a need to kiss her again so he gently pushed her back and raised her chin. Her lashes swept against his cheek as he tenderly pressed his lips to hers.
She continued to kiss him with emotionally driven force and before he knew it, he could feel an urge for more as Molly's hand slid to the growing area in his pants.
"Avery is still downstairs, if you get me going, I won't be able to stop. We can do it tonight." John said, moving her hand away.
Molly couldn't help but try to tempt fate by grabbing onto the hand that was making her stop and taking it to her mouth to suck on his fingers. John watched with his own mouth open and a fully risen, pitched out tent, sticking up from below his belt line.
She slowly removed them from her mouth and wiped them off on her chest.
"Still upset with me?"
He reached out aggressively and squeezed her chest, having felt her n*****s through her shirt and bra.
"I'm even more upset now."
She unbuttoned his pants and took him in her hands, letting go for a second just to take off her shirt and lower her bra. Next thing he knew, he was plunging himself into her cleavage and pulling her hair.
"f**k me. We can't do this. This is exactly the type of thing I'm worried about, you're so easily influenced by sex."
Molly tried to get up and assemble herself while noticing John's thick member was alreading glistening with precum.
"Let it go, please. I'm sorry I texted him, but at least I'll get some money out of it. I don't want to sleep with him, when you call me your girl, nothing else matters anymore. Besides, who knows, maybe I'll even be able to get some of my stuff if it hasn't been thrown out."
John was stroking himself to try and get relief. "So you were planning to go back to his place then?"
"Johnny." She said with a slight laugh, "I can't take you seriously right now if you're touching yourself while interrogating me. You know my entire life was there. I just want my money and my things, and I already told you that you could come."
John groaned, "Baby... Tell me I can come again."
Molly got on her knees once more and told him to finish in her mouth so that there wouldn't be a mess. John shoved himself in and released himself shortly after, feeling her swallow and constrict around him.
"Why do you have to be this sexy though? To just take it like that? Every man dreams of a girl like you."
Molly rose and wiped her mouth. "I can't wait for tonight." She licked her lips. "I hope you'll make me forget about anyone but you."
"I intend to." John told her confidently, "Now get out of here and get yourself ready so we can go to the store."
Before she left, she asked if he was still mad about her telling Avery that she 'like-liked' him and he shook his head. He had been taken aback and worried that if Helen knew, she would think they were being blatantly inappropriate infront of Avery, and he didn't want her to overreact by claiming it was some sort of abuse.
Molly understood what he was saying and didn't know how he could always put up with his ex wife's bullying. She left for her own room and figured that the way she worried about Helen was probably less than how John worried about Julien because she didn't have to fear either of them coming on to each other. She thought about the job and hoped that since John had mentioned he once considered moving to the city, that it would end up just being a fun first trip out together for them.
