The house was quiet and Molly was so comfortable in bed despite spending the night alone. She had gotten used to sleeping beside John but was liking that she could spread out a little more and have all of the blanket to herself. Instead of checking the time and getting up early, Molly kept her eyes closed and flipped over to face the wall and continued to doze off. Upstairs, John was worried that she was already awake and that he wouldn't be able to surprise her for her birthday, but figured he'd try anyways.
