“What?!”
Shocked had to be an understatement for how I felt, the news taking me by complete surprise. Lucien was just as taken aback, unable to hide his emotions as his eyes widened.
“How did it happen?” He asked me. “He was locked up. Weren’t the guards watching him? How could they be so careless?!”
“It’s Kane we’re talking about here,” I reminded him. “You said it yourself. He has his men scattered all around so it’s no news he was able to collide with the guards. There were probably just another group of his men in disguise.”
