I felt restless for some reason. But it couldn’t be me. We went out with Esmeralda to get some stuff for her potion. She needed it to mask her scent and mimic that of a wolf. I mind-linked Kaid to find out what was going on with him.
“Kaid? Is something wrong?” I asked through the link.
He didn’t answer. He was probably in a meeting or on a call. But still, that feeling didn’t let me concentrate.
After finishing our errands, we returned to the house to pack. Apparently, my clothes had to be specially chosen to portray my status. It would have been unnecessary if you had asked me, but I had to play my part.
Esmeralda told me they had already bought a lot of stuff, so I didn't understand why we were buying more.
I went to Kaid's office before they kidnapped me to get my bags ready.
