The birthday party is turning out a success. Everyone is having such a great time. "It's cake time," I tell Cali, who goes inside and helps me get the cake lit up and the dj announces everyone to the stage. Abina is already holding the microphone and we will do her yearly bay party performance, which is just us singing her happy birthday and she sitting with her daddy to play the drums. We did this every year we were on the road. It's our little privacy tradition that now we will share with everyone here.
