"So, who is up for a grown up party tonight?" Mia inquires as she downs her second cheese burger.
We are at the cafeteria. It's Friday, and my dad's birthday is today.
"How can you invite people to a party that you can't attend?" Nathan laughs, and that earns him a glare from Mia.
"I'm a grown up. What do you mean?"
"I'm having a hard time buying that. You don't act like it sometimes."
She immediately turns to Asher.
"Tell your friend to stop being an ass to me."
"Leave her alone, Nathan." Asher defends her, and I frown when Mia's face glows with pleasure.
