"Hey, Johnson!" The doctor assigned to Savannah stops me in the hallway. He's flanked by a nurse who was in Riya's room the better part of yesterday.
"Any news for me?"
"Your sister is stable. She's doing well."
"Great. You won't let me into the ICU so I'm here to see a different person."

"She was asking for you all night." The nurse decides to step in. "She only stopped when she fully regained consciousness at dawn."
