Nadia shifts her eyes to Reid, and I watch as all blood drains from her face.
"Reid! I didn't think you'd be here."
He says nothing. He just keeps staring at her. They know each other?
"Look," Nadia says desperately. "I got tired of staying in bed and I didn't have anything else to so I decided to come. I promised Savannah I'd try and show up. I swear I didn't drive or anything."
Reid's eyes slowly shift from her face to mine. He gazes at me, and I can't tell whether he is confused, dumbfounded, or about to pass out.
Maybe he is all of the above.
"I had no idea that you've met Reid." Nadia tells me.
"Oh, we've met. How do you know him again?"
"I, um, pregnant by him."
"What?"
"We..uh..how do you two know each other?"
I feel my jaw twitch.
"You're the assistant, aren't you?"
