“What?!” I screamed, the sound tearing from my throat in pure shock.
My father glanced at me, clearly startled by how loud I had gotten.
“Why are you so surprised? This shouldn't be new to you, right?” he asked, walking past me casually.
“Ah… yes…” I stammered, my chest tightening as a thousand thoughts raced through my head.
