“Who slept with who?” Her voice came from the door.
Something cracked in my head. My mum stood there, looking like she just heard the most unbelievable thing in her life.
“Mu…m,” I stammered, something catching in my throat.
“I just asked a question! Who slept with who?” she shouted again, her eyes burning into mine like she expected something else from me.
“I…”
“It’s… not what you thi—” Juliet tried to say, but my mum shot her a glare that shut her up immediately.
“I asked her, not you,” she snapped, turning her glare back to me.
“If I heard that correctly… you did what? Or am I hearing things?” she said.
Tears fell from my eyes. Juliet was trembling beside me, and honestly, I was too.
I had no more excuses. Now that my mum knew, what would happen next?
