When Noah asked me earlier, I was speechless. I had nothing to say, because who is she to me? Or maybe the question is, who am I to her?
How do I explain the fact that she’s someone I lust after? Someone whose name clings to my throat when I try to swallow it back.
My phone buzzed on the desk. I reached for it lazily, not expecting anything. The moment I saw Sienna’s name flash across the screen, my chest tightened.
Hi Loren, thanks for earlier. I’m okay now.
I stared at the message. My thumb hovered over the screen for a second, but I didn’t type anything. I locked the phone and dropped it on the desk with a soft thud. Leaning back in my chair, I let my head rest against the cold leather, my fingers threading through my hair.
