AMARA POV The knock came sharp against the wooden door. I froze. My heart slammed into my ribs so hard I thought it might burst out of my chest. Panic shot through me like a wave of cold water, drowning out every trace of warmth that had burned through my veins a second ago. What if someone found out? What if they saw me here like this, trembling under his touch, branded by his whispers? The question what if..kept repeating in my head.. But the professor didn’t let go of me. His grip only tightened around my waist, his hand firm as if he owned me. He bent his head until his lips brushed my ear, and with a calm that sent shivers crawling down my skin, he whispered, “Don’t move.” I wanted to breathe. I wanted to run.
