AMARA POV I sighed, turning on the bed for what felt like the hundredth time. Sleep refused to come. Guilt sat heavy on my chest, pressing down until it hurt to breathe. What was I thinking when I blurted that out? Abortion. The word echoed in my head, cruel and careless. Common, Amara. I smacked my palm lightly against my forehead and let out a weak laugh that didn’t sound like laughter at all. The look in his eyes replayed again, shock first, then hurt. Real hurt. His words echoed in my ears. I hurt him. Badly. Something warm dropped onto my hand. I frowned, lifting it slowly. Wait… am I crying? I touched my face and felt the wetness before I could stop it. “Oh wow,” I muttered weakly. “Just found out about you today and I’m already crying like this.” I rested my palm again
