AMARA POV
The cold air hit me the moment I stepped inside.
The house felt heavier than usual, like the walls were waiting to explode. I could sense the tension thick in the air, but I didn’t care. I came for answers. And I wasn’t leaving without them.
“Look who finally decided to come home,” Mom’s voice came sharp, her glare colder than the marble floor.
I ignored her. I wasn’t here to fight. Not this time.
“I came here to ask you both something,” I said quietly, my voice tight, my gaze moving from Mom to Dad.
Nina sat on the couch, her face bowed down like a guilty child caught stealing. For a second, I almost pitied her…but no, not after everything she’d done.
“Can’t you see the mood here? Are you that dumb?!” Mom snapped, voice slicing through the air.
“Mom, I—”
