Cody had watched Cassie's transformation into her wolf unable to hold back the pain he felt inside and wishing desperately that he could just hold her and take her pain as well. Instead he'd had to look as her bones cracked and readjusted themselves and heard her screams pierce through the night air as he'd listened with his heart in his throat. Dear god she was going through all of this and it was completely his fault. Well not completely as his wolf had done it but still he felt nothing but guilt within himself. The shift took forever, a lifetime or at least that's what it felt like to Cody who could do nothing to help, could only stand there and pray for it to be over soon. Then finally it was over, the screams falling silent and the loud cracking noises of bones breaking faded to noth
