KILLIAN Sage fell asleep on my chest before I managed to tell her everything that was on my mind, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Her warm breath tickled my skin, and I wrapped my hands around her tighter. Her closeness was the only thing that kept me sane today. I almost lost her, and it was all my fault. It was easy for me to let Sage consume my whole life, but I forgot one important thing–it was different for her, and she had other people she loved. People who loved her back. Unfortunately for me, most of those people hated my guts. And that wouldn't be an easy fix. As a dragon, all I wanted to do was to snatch her away from the world and hide her in my place of strength, where she would be all mine, and I would never have to worry about anyone taking her away from me.
