I stayed at Adam's for as long as I could before I had to leave for work. I could tell he wasn't happy about it, but I kept assuring him that I promised to cover for those who wouldn't be coming in today. When I arrived at the diner, it was just as hectic as the day before. With only two waitresses to manage all the tables, I jumped right into work. Fortunately, there wasn't anyone in the diner that I didn't want to see—at least not at first. As I was busy attending to the tables, I noticed Abel and Dean walk in to grab a bite to eat.
