As soon as we returned to the packhouse, Holden and Azalea disappeared into Holden’s room, and we didn’t expect to see them for the rest of the day. We took Bentley upstairs, and as soon as I put him to bed, I sat on the couch to review some schoolwork and paperwork for the pack. Adam walked over and sat beside me, much closer than usual.
