XIX. be careful   Storm   “Thanks for the ride. I owe you.” Mara smiled. “Don’t worry about it. Good luck with work.” I dismissed her. “Take care.” She walked out of the car and walked into the diner where she worked part-time as a waitress. She had been working there for two years now. They were actually well-off but she hated asking for money from her parents and decided to work after her classes. Her shirt ended at around eight in the evening. Mara was a great person and really humble. I had been doing this—dropping her at work—whenever I had free time and when her boyfriend was busy. It was crazy but I had no idea who her boyfriend was.
