At Brayden’s announcement, Holly assumed he meant a van as she walked towards him. She didn’t see Maverick anywhere.
“Where’s your dad?”
“Still in the Barn feeding the horses. I had to pee, but then I saw the car.”
Holly told him to go use the bathroom and thanked him for telling her.
She stepped out and sure enough it was not the van but a car with a hysterical blonde woman jumping out in a long brown trench coat. Her face was a mess all blotchy and red, with black mascara running down her face.
