Axel “Is my girlfriend in yet?” my question made me pause abruptly because of the silence that accompanied it. I spun around to stare at my secretary, who was staring back at me like I had grown two heads. “What?” I shot at her coldly, arching a brow in question. “Um. . .” She trailed off, irritating me. “I don't know who your girlfriend is…” She sounded genuinely confused and it wasn't until she said that, that it completely dawned on me that I had unconsciously referred to her as my girlfriend. I cursed under my breath, raking my fingers through my hair.
