About the beating incident, I didn't think I had done anything wrong.
I was protecting my girl, and any other wolf would have done the same thing.
I even made the worst of it and took Nina straight back to the pack; she would never be a match for me in either strength or speed.
As an alpha king, I had high prestige in the pack, and everyone feared and respected me.
So far, I have never apologized to any wolf, let alone a human.
So I would never easily compromise and apologize to that hateful little old man; This was my very firm belief before.
