”It’s okay.”  I stared into Fredrick's eyes, into the pool of emotions and glistening crystals from unshed tears.  He wasn't sad about dying. He wasn't sad about leaving everyone behind.  Why was he crying? Behind the tears and the color, I saw something that made me gasp in horror.  I saw my own reflection. Except it wasn't me, it was a monster, someone I had become in the midst of the rage and hatred.  My eyes were completely black. My veins weren't only visible but were bulging out of my face.  The veins weren't blue but black and thick.  My fangs. My fangs were huge with chipped pieces that looked to have fallen off. My face looked distorted with veins and wrinkles, my eyebrows were highly arched with excessive hairs growing around them in patches.  I looked horrific.  I rais
