Arther's POV He was deteriorating so quickly that I saw him slap the woman hard across the face, but before I could get up, he fell on his back. I frowned as the woman's eyes widened. Time seemed to stop. The servant next to me ran up the stairs screaming. In the confusion of the others, she slowly raised her hands, trembling and covering her face. Her face was so small that I could no longer see her expression as it was covered by her palm. I suddenly felt the screams all around me were far away, but in those blurry quiet hallucinations, I seemed to hear her faint whimpers. Her tears rolled down her fingers and I suddenly realized that I had never seen her cry so much before. Who was she crying for? For herself, or for fate?
