Alex POV The madness at school, when the shooting happened, was nothing compared to the sudden arrival of parents scrambling to take their children out of the school. The authorities couldn't contain the sudden influx of parents and the cars rushing in and out. The police had blocked the carpark area where the shooting happened, making removing students' cars impossible. Those children who did not see the shooting wanted to get to the car, but that did not stop kids at the site from trying to see what was going on—mainly those who had heard about it and wanted to see it. The twins had not witnessed what had gone down, and I was grateful for that. The rest of us have seen death and violence at some stage, but the twins have not, and I would like to keep it that way for as long as possible
