My girl.
She was my center of attention, and I guarded her closely. She showed a tiny sign that this was too much for her, and I scooped her up and removed us both from the party. I am one of the birthday boys, but to me, this day was to celebrate having my girl back, and I am going to make sure she knows I am there for her and let her have some fun. She had been through enough.
The others knew not to say a word about her a*******n and return, so the party was to celebrate all of us turning seventeen, as far as they were concerned. There was a quiet agreement that it was also for having Gemma back home safe and sound.
