I fell asleep on Gemma's bed; I love having her in my arms and keeping her close.
The girls giggling woke me up.
'It's too early; go back to bed.' Gemma grumbled from beside me, her head under the blankets.
'Wake up, Gemma. It's time to get ready for school. You have twenty minutes to get dressed and fed before the bus leaves.' Gemma and I sat up so fast that the girls were giggling again.
'You two looked so cozy together.' Denise said, and Sandra, Zoey, and Zena all nodded, gave a finger wave, and giggled as they left.
'Catch you soon.' I threw the covers off me, which I do not remember pulling over me during the night, and raced out the door. The girls were waiting for me to emerge. They were leaning on the wall, all in a row and watching.
