Gemma POV Alex was still not talking to me. Seeing him around and him not even looking my way is worse than any punishment Dad has given me, and believe me, I have had some hard ones. The latest was a month's grounding for not speaking up about the hole in the fence. He said it was a matter of security: If they can get out, others can get in, and I had let him down. I should have reported it even if I had not mentioned who made the hole. I was left in tears and ashamed for days.
