“I don't know, he's acting strange,” I said to Mariah after I took Cole back home with me. We spent the weekend at Xander's house, but it seemed as if something was wrong.
“It could mean several things, he'll tell you whenever he's ready,” Mariah replied while sitting next to me on the couch. Cole was in his room, and I had just come home from work.
“Today at work, he ignored me. I tried to talk to him to get his attention, but he snapped at me and told me that he had a lot of work to get done. I hadn't spoken to him after that.” I started shaking my legs while biting my nails.
I did not want to jump to any conclusions, but I couldn't help it. Usually, Xander would be all over me, even at work. But something just seems off.
