COUNCIL MEMBER PERRY.
Adam's call had come at a bad time. I was in the middle of something right now. The Council's phones had been blowing up all morning as apparently multiple Luna's had gone missing during the night. Whoever was behind this had clearly covered some ground, too. I had wanted to tell him that his issues were going to have to wait. I thought that he was summoning me so that I could witness his rejection of Amber. Something in his voice stopped me, though, and instead, I agreed to go to him. I wondered what it was that he considered to be so important.
I hurried over to Amber's room and knocked on the door. It opened almost immediately, and Adam ushered me inside. Amber was sitting on the edge of the bed, looking as confused as I felt. Adam was furiously pacing behind me.
