Chapter 5 Tammy was going to sleep the clock round until dinner. At least that was her plan. It was sabotaged by her body still being on East Coast time—and Jasper dropping Maxine on her face. She and Jasper had picked out the little Cairn terrier shortly after it was born. It had been during the first time they’d had an outing as a family, before they were a family. They’d gone to the Seattle Dog Show, and it was totally fated to be. Perrin had brought it home after it was weaned, the evening before the wedoption transformed her into Mom, so that they’d all become a family at once. When the terrier had settled from ecstasy to snuggle in her arms, she looked at Jasper over the oh-so-comfortable quilt she and Mom had made forever ago—a field of the pinks and golds of a Seattle sunrise,
