Jo sat in the back of the car, and wondered how her head could still be pounding from last night as they climbed over Snoqualmie Pass in the Washington Cascades, then continued east.
Perhaps it was the alcohol or perhaps the altitude.
Or maybe it was the phone call this morning. The partners had been elated at her change of mind. They’d even offered her a small stipend, enough to pay for some rent and food at Cassidy’s.
Until now she hadn’t considered environmental law but there was no question that it was going to be a huge growth sector in the 2000s and the decades to come. She knew of herself that she was always happier with a clear road map planned out.
