ENDER I heard her heart pick up. I perceived her fear and for a moment, I wanted to stop, to think this through. But when she turned to me and I saw that face once more, I made up my mind. “Pick up your clothes.” I ordered and took a step back. And watched as she slowly put back her clothes. The images of the scars on her back forever burned into the back of my mind. “What did they do to her?” A tiny part of me wanted to know. And a tiny part of me hated the idea of her being hurt just as my wolf growled from within. I pushed him aside. He had to remember that she wasn’t Meredith.
