RAVEN
Everywhere hurt, and it hurt so bad. Each breath I took, each move I made, even speaking hurts. But I took the pain. I brought this upon myself. I was stupid, and I deserved what I got for being stupid. So I took the pain and stilled my heart.
When I finally got to the room that was mine, I sighed in relief and immediately pushed myself to sit. The ground was uncomfortable, compared to the bed and the cool air in the room I only just left. This was exactly like my cell.
But I rather this cell than anywhere close to the devil king. He was a monster, and my life was in his hands.
Ash found his way into the room the moment I forced myself to relax. And the familiar sight of him and the sound of his voice made me smile. He perched on my legs, and I caressed his soft feathers.
