The previous day ended uneventfully, which was sort of relieving. But I still couldn't sleep, even with enough time on my hands. My night was filled with thoughts, nightmares, and more reoccurring nightmares. It was terrible. I ended up sitting up, wide awake, till the very next morning, when someone came knocking at my door.
I frowned. No one ever knocked on my door. Kai always pushed it right open, and aside from him, no one came around to look for me. Whoever it was was clearly gentle, and I should be happy that he didn't do the same thing Kai always did, yet I felt nervous at the slight change of things.
I got up painfully from where I had been sitting and turned to the door. Only to find Kai standing outside, looking nervous. My heart skipped, and dread washed all over me instantly
