"Kai, what is happening?" My heart was beginning to pound inside my chest, and a certain dread was growing rapidly inside me. He said nothing and simply kept walking. I paused for several seconds. The thought of running away was wide and raging in my mind, but where was I supposed to run? And wouldn't that simply make everything worse for me? I took a deep breath and reluctantly followed him down there anyway. I recognized the room I had been placed in when I first arrived there. But we walked past that door and walked deeper. I came across bars and cells similar to the ones in the castle. And the stench down their made my stomach curl in disgust and panic. "What are we doing down here?" Kai said nothing in response.
