“Where's Erin?" I asked Benjamin.
He pointed to the fire escape. She was standing on the stairs looking up.
“They began to climb on top of each other to get to her. Kind of like a Soul Eater ladder; it was creepier than hell. So, I pulled her up and we ran." He shook his head with bemusement at the creature's tenacity.
“Here," he said suddenly picking a large knife off the floor by the door. “Looks like one of the Eater's must have dropped this."
I took it gratefully and tucked it away. I had a sick feeling that I was going to need it very soon.
“Erin and I are gonna make our way downstairs to try to close the door. You keep looking around up here and see if you can spot Cynthia," he said waving Erin in the building.
