AWAKE..

1717 Words

CHAPTER 72 She slept. She knew she was sleeping but for how long, it wasn't clear. She could hear people talk around her like muffled snippets every so often, but it was as if she was deep under the surface of the ocean. She wanted to wake up but then it would become so peaceful that she would go back to sleep. Her throat felt parched as if she had been left in a scorching desert for years, her head and body felt exhausted even after the peaceful sleep she had. Very slowly, she opened her eyes and let them adjust to the light around her. Thankfully, they weren't bright though. She rubbed her temples trying to ease the headache and then slowly shifted herself to sit leaning against the headboard. The surroundings made her frown a bit, it wasn't the cell in the basement nor Zayan's room.
