Lilian’s POV
‘Who found you? Who has Daxton? Dec! Get in here!’ Dakota’s panicked voice fills my ear before I hear a sound and suddenly Declan’s voice comes through the speaker.
‘OK Lil, you are on speaker, tell me what happened’ he demands, his tone business-like and devoid of emotion. This is a side of Declan that I have never seen before, and suddenly it hits me just what kind of work he does with his father.
‘My ex’ I stumble out, ‘he wasn’t a good guy, I ran from him, before college, and he found me again.’ My sobs cut off my words again for a second before I can wrestle myself back under control. ‘He took Daxton and he won’t let him go until I go back to him. I’m supposed to meet his driver tomorrow at eight am.’
